Avner D. Sofer, Esquire
Avner Sofer has focused his career on getting to the root of problems and seeking the best solution for his clients. He is known for his listening skills, his advocacy prowess, and his ability to find creative resolutions to seemingly insurmountable situations.
Mr. Sofer serves as a Judge Pro Tem in the San Francisco Superior Court. He practices law throughout the Bay Area. He has effectively appeared in federal and state courts throughout California and Arizona.
Mr. Sofer began his notable legal career as a Prosecutor for the Colorado River Indian Tribes. Thereafter, he became a criminal defense and civil attorney, proudly representing clients in the cities and townships of California and Arizona. Mr. Sofer has represented many individuals, as well as small and large businesses, and public entities. His breadth of experience in the legal field includes business law, litigation, contracts, copyright, criminal law, family law, bankruptcy, commercial law, real estate, personal injury, collections, construction, and Native American law.
Mr. Sofer is an energetic self-starter and a natural leader. He was the President of both his law school and his undergraduate school. He is a recognized author of numerous works of fiction and nonfiction. Mr. Sofer received the Nathan Burke ASCAP Award for his legal article, Joint Authors: An Uncomfortable Tenancy In Common, published in the 1998 Loyola Entertainment Law Journal. He was the Co-Publisher of The Evening News, a legal newspaper.
Mr. Sofer obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law, and obtained his undergraduate degree in Communications Film/Video from Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Sofer was admitted to practice law in California in 1998.
